Translation of websites: DeepL interface is implemented and being tested

The DeepL interface for the Viadrina CMS announced in February has been implemented for a few weeks now and is currently being tested by the web relaunch team. After a test phase, it will be possible to translate Viadrina websites (content) into other languages using an interface to DeepL from July, as soon as the icon with the DeepL logo appears in the toolbar.

The languages English, Polish, Ukrainian and French are provided by default.

The translation works semi-automatically and only for pages that have already been built in the new design. The responsible CMS editors decide which pages and which modules they want to have translated and trigger this process in the CMS by clicking on the DeepL icon. First the language is selected, then the modules to be translated. It is also possible to exclude modules that are not relevant for the translation. If the process was successful, the new content is available in the corresponding language tree and can also be manually edited and released there. CMS editors can find detailed instructions in the training documents.

Glossaries in the respective languages are intended to ensure that typical university terms are translated appropriately in terms of content. This function will continue to develop depending on the state of artificial intelligence.</p
